As the newly elected President of the Australian Wiltshire Horn Sheepbreeders Association in 2006 I was determined to improve the way
we promoted the breed. I contacted Graphical Constructions
to seek advice on how the Association should go about it. The
Association is not a big one, so value for money was a major
criterion, and Wiltshire Horns are a very unique breed, so they needed
to have a distinctive and recognisable image. In addition, the members
of the Association are spread all over Australia, with actual physical
contacts at best once a year, and they come from a wide range of
backgrounds with an equally wide range of interests.
With those guidelines Leonie and Jeff set about creating firstly an
excellent web site which performed the twin functions of providing
information to the general public on the one hand, and a means of
communication between members on the other hand. The design of the web
site is attractive and the functions fast and efficient. New
initiatives included a member's forum which has proved very popular
and useful, a "saleyard" section for classified ads, and a section
with links to individual breeders and, on request, the creation of
individual web pages.
With this basic promotional and communication mechanism established,
Graphical Constructions then set about creating more conventional promotional
materials in the form of individual ads for farming magazines,
stickers, a new brochure, and a handbook. All were professionally
designed and produced, and developed a consistent and recognisable
theme. Leonie then set about redesigning the existing rather plain
Association newsletter and turned it into an attractive modern
magazine. Both Jeff and Leonie have worked hard on communications with
individual members and sending the promotional materials to them
promptly and efficiently.
Graphical Constructions have performed a very valuable
service to the Association, and I would have no hesitation in
recommending their services to any small business or non profit
organisation looking for cost effective and professional communication
and promotional services.
